Neem Karoli Baba (Neeb Karori Baba) was born in a prestigious Brahmin family around 1900 in Akbarpur village of Uttar Pradesh and his childhood name was Lakshmi Narayan Sharma and his father’s name was Durga Prasad Sharma and mother’s name was Kaushalya Devi Sharma and at the time of death of mother Kaushalya Devi Sharma, Neem Karoli Baba was only 8 years old. Neem Karoli Baba used to meditate on Ram’s name and worship Hanuman ji since childhood. He was of spiritual nature since childhood and later he renounced worldly bonds and took sanyaas. Neem Karoli Baba was a great saint, yogi and devotional saint of India whose life was full of mysterious and miraculous events.
Marriage of Neem Karoli Baba Ji
Neem Karoli Baba Ji was married to Rambeti Sharma Ji at a very young age of about 11 years, and wife Rambeti Sharma was a resident of village Vadamwas district Firozabad. This marriage was performed according to traditional Brahmin customs. And Rambeti Sharma Ji was a very religious and devoted woman, she understood the ascetic nature of Neem Karoli Baba Ji and allowed him to move towards sanyaas freely. Neem Karoli Baba Ji lived a household life for only a few years after marriage, and his mind was not interested in worldly life. And this event of marriage remained just an initial social ritual of his saintly life. And Neem Karoli Baba Ji left home one day and took complete sanyaas. Neem Karoli Baba was a divine soul, who explained the importance of love, devotion and service to people through his life.
First journey towards spirituality and journey from Lakshmi Narayan Sharma to Laxman Das
Neem Karoli Baba Ji started his first journey towards spirituality and his first journey stopped at an ashram in Rajkot, Gujarat and Neem Karoli Baba Ji started rigorous sadhana here. Impressed by Neem Karoli Baba Ji’s rigorous sadhana and dedication, devotion and service, the Mahant of the ashram made him the successor of the ashram and Neem Karoli Baba Ji was renamed as Laxman Das but other disciples of the ashram did not agree and due to this Baba Ji left the ashram.
Second journey towards spirituality and journey from Laxman Das to “Talaiya Baba”
Neem Karoli Baba left the ashram and did sadhana in Vavaniya village of Gujarat. Vavaniya village is located near Morbi district. Neem Karoli Baba started doing penance in a pond in Vavaniya village and due to this the villagers started calling him “Talaiya Baba”. Baba ji established a Hanuman temple in Vavaniya village, which is still an important pilgrimage place for devotees. Thus the second journey of Neem Karoli Baba was completed.

From Delhi Anand Vihar Bus Station …… To go to Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham Temple Nainital, you come directly to Haldwani, and from Haldwani Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham Temple is about 44 KM away, now you will reach Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham Temple Nainital directly from Haldwani Bus Station ……. via taxi and the fare of the taxi is Rs 200 to Rs 250 per passenger to Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Kainchi Dham Temple Nainital.
